I upgraded GCW (which was already version 2.8) and Sheep's Ahoy (which was still back around 1.5, I think) both effortlessly. Man, I wish the rest of the world could figure out how to make upgrades that painless.

The problem is the permalinks style she has chosen. Something is amiss with the way they are interpreted and used on arguable. Need more research!

There is a problem with Dee's site! She changed one of the ways that stuff is stored and now most of the links on the side don't work. Comments can't be added and a few other problems. I need to look into this ASAP.

I got the machine back and it was my fault that it was not working. I put an old optical drive that I had lying around and it was faulty in a way that made the system behave in a really odd way. It's all fixed now with a new optical drive.

I ran the system for a couple of weeks at the normal speed of 2.66GHz and then OC'd it to 3.00GHz where it has been running ever since. If I can find a temperature monitor for this mobo and chipset I will try a higher OC rate but at this time I am quite happy with the results.

Hey, John. You ever get the system to stabilize? Did you try to overclock it?

I have starting tagging my posts too, but I'm not a fan of on-the-fly taxonomies. What I really want is for wp to look at what I wrote and provide some suggested tags, that I could then edit. As it stands, I can never remember whether I last tagged it as "wp" or "wordpress" or "WordPress" or...

I'm not sure I can tell the router to not assign addresses to certain mac addresses. It is a pretty dumb dhcp server. I think the easiest method would be to get the dhcp3-server assigning addresses and then add the lines to do the pxe stuff as I go along. That is my current thinking anyway.

Can you tell your existing dhcp server not to give addresses to particular mac addresses? If so, then you can have two dhcp servers - the router can serve your existing machines, and the new dhcp3-server can serve the boinc servers. That is, until you are ready to move the rest of the service to the dhcp3-server.
